Tc-99m anti-EMMPRIN mAb is a Technetium-99m (Tc-99m)-radiolabeled monoclonal antibody directed against EMMPRIN (Extracellular Matrix Metalloproteinase Inducer, also known as CD147). EMMPRIN is a transmembrane glycoprotein that is frequently overexpressed in various malignancies, including pancreatic adenocarcinoma, where it plays a critical role in tumor invasion, angiogenesis, and metastasis by inducing the production of matrix metalloproteinases. This radioimmunoconjugate consists of a mouse-origin IgG1 κ monoclonal antibody labeled with the gamma-emitting isotope Tc-99m, enabling its use as a SPECT/CT imaging agent. Developed and investigated primarily at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, the agent has been utilized in preclinical research to visualize tumor uptake and monitor the therapeutic efficacy of anti-EMMPRIN treatments in orthotopic pancreatic cancer murine models.
