Overview

TCB-006 is an allogeneic chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy being developed by TC BioPharm for the treatment of solid tumors, including ovarian cancer and triple-negative breast cancer. The therapy utilizes donor-derived gamma delta T cells that are genetically modified to express a CAR targeting the V-set domain containing T-cell activation inhibitor 1 (also known as B7-H4 or VTCN1). B7-H4 is a member of the B7 family of immune checkpoint molecules and is frequently overexpressed in various solid malignancies, where it inhibits T-cell mediated immune responses. By using gamma delta T cells via the proprietary ImmuniCAR platform, TCB-006 is designed as an "off-the-shelf" product intended to offer a safer profile with reduced risk of graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) and lower toxicity compared to conventional alpha-beta T-cell therapies. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
