The formulation incorporates xylitol as an osmotic agent to enhance transperitoneal sodium removal (sodium sieving) and fluid ultrafiltration. Clinical trials in Japan, including randomized double-blind multicenter studies, have demonstrated that the continuous use of TCD-58205 can increase sodium clearance without compromising the overall dialysis dose or safety profile.
