Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TCM herbal lung granules is an investigational, lung-directed traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation prepared as oral granules. It is designed to target the respiratory system for the treatment of acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD). In clinical trials, such as the four-arm parallel interventional study ChiCTR-TRC-09000533 sponsored by Dongzhimen Hospital Affiliated to Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, this formulation is evaluated alongside intestine-directed TCM granules and combined lung-intestine TCM granules (such as the Xuan Bai Cheng Qi formula) to assess its therapeutic efficacy on pulmonary function, TCM symptom scores, blood gas analysis, and exercise tolerance in patients with AECOPD.
