Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TCM-Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine-non-small cell lung cancer refers to a comprehensive rehabilitation program developed for patients with postoperative stage IB-IIIA non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The program integrates staged Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal granules—specifically formulated to 'supplement Qi,' 'nourish Yin,' 'harmonize the stomach,' and 'detoxify'—with Liu Zi Jue (LZJ) breathing exercises and rehabilitation education. This multi-modal intervention is administered as an adjuvant to standard platinum-based chemotherapy. It is designed to improve the quality of life, reduce chemotherapy-related toxicities, and potentially enhance disease-free and long-term survival. The program has been evaluated in a multicenter, randomized, placebo-controlled trial (NCT03372694) involving several hospitals in Shanghai.
