Overview

TCRMCC1 is an autologous **T cell receptor engineered T cell therapy** and gene-modified adoptive cell immunotherapy being developed for **Merkel cell carcinoma**. The product is manufactured from a patient's own CD4 and CD8 T cells that are genetically engineered to express a T-cell receptor recognizing the Merkel cell polyomavirus T-antigen epitope **KLLEIAPNC** presented by **HLA-A*02:01**. Its therapeutic rationale is to redirect transferred T cells against virus-positive MCC cells that depend on polyomavirus T-antigen expression for tumor maintenance. Based on the provided clinical context, the therapy has been studied in immune checkpoint inhibitor-refractory metastatic MCC, where tumor regressions were observed in some treated patients.
