TCS2210 is a selective small molecule inhibitor of Interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase 1 (IRAK1). Originally identified as an inducer of neuronal differentiation in mesenchymal stem cells, it has more recently been investigated for its potential in treating epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). The compound works by blocking the IRAK1-mediated activation of non-canonical STAT3 signaling, which is often triggered by low molecular weight hyaluronic acid in the tumor microenvironment. By inhibiting this pathway, TCS2210 reduces cancer stem cell properties and spheroid formation. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that TCS2210 can inhibit tumor growth in vivo, both as a standalone treatment and in combination with cisplatin, suggesting its potential as a targeted therapeutic agent for chemoresistant or recurrent ovarian cancer.
