Overview

TD-1439 is a small molecule enkephalinase (neprilysin, also known as CD10) inhibitor developed by Theravance Biopharma. It is structurally distinct from other neprilysin inhibitors such as TD-0714. Neprilysin is an enzyme responsible for the degradation of natriuretic peptides (ANP, BNP, CNP), which play important roles in cardiovascular and renal homeostasis. By inhibiting neprilysin, TD-1439 may increase levels of these peptides and has been investigated as a potential novel treatment for chronic heart failure (CHF). The drug has completed Phase 1 clinical trials evaluating its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics in healthy adult and elderly subjects[1][2][7][9].
