Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TdaP vaccine SSI is a trivalent biologic combination vaccine developed by the Statens Serum Institut (SSI) for booster immunization in adults. It is formulated to prevent infections caused by *Clostridium tetani*, *Corynebacterium diphtheriae*, and *Bordetella pertussis*. The vaccine contains tetanus toxoid, a reduced dose of diphtheria toxoid, and a unique monocomponent acellular pertussis antigen (pertussis toxoid). This specific formulation is designed to stimulate active immunity and provide a booster response in individuals previously primed with primary vaccinations. Clinical trials have evaluated its immunogenicity and safety compared to standard Td booster vaccines, particularly in adult populations previously vaccinated with whole-cell pertussis vaccines.
