TdcP-IPV is a combination vaccine designed for use as a booster in children, typically around 6 years of age, who have previously received primary immunization with diphtheria-tetanus-whole cell pertussis (DTwcP) and oral polio vaccine (OPV). The formulation contains tetanus toxoid, low dose diphtheria toxoid, a 5-component acellular pertussis antigen mix, and inactivated poliovirus. Its mechanism of action is to induce immunity against tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough), and poliomyelitis by stimulating the immune system to produce protective antibodies against these pathogens. Clinical studies have shown that the TdcP-IPV vaccine is immunogenic and safe when administered as a booster dose[5].
