Overview

TDNM is a synthetic analogue of cord factor, specifically 6,6'-dideoxy-6,6'-bis-mycoloylamino-alpha,alpha-trehalose. It is described as a less toxic cord factor analogue that has demonstrated potent antitumour activity, particularly when combined with other immunomodulatory agents like 6-O-stearoyl muramyldipeptide (L18-MDP) or synthetic lipid A of Escherichia coli (compound 506). Its mechanism of action is related to its immunomodulatory properties, leading to the regression of transplantable line-10 hepatocellular carcinoma in experimental models.
