TDT 064

TDT 064 is a drug-free topical gel composed of ultra-deformable phospholipid vesicles, also known as Transfersomes. It is specifically designed for the management of pain and joint stiffness associated with osteoarthritis, particularly in the knee. Unlike conventional topical treatments such as NSAIDs, TDT 064 does not contain a pharmacologically active drug substance. Instead, it utilizes a physical mechanism of action where the vesicles penetrate the skin and migrate into the synovial fluid of the joint. Once inside, these vesicles accumulate on the surfaces of the articular cartilage, acting as a bio-lubricant to reduce friction and mechanical wear. Due to this physical mode of action, TDT 064 is often regulated as a medical device (Class IIa) rather than a pharmaceutical drug in various jurisdictions.
