Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TE02102 is an investigational cell therapy consisting of induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived 'youthful' retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) cells. Developed by TongEYE (Jishi Tongguang Pharmaceutical Technology (Ningbo) Co., Ltd.), TE02102 is designed as a regenerative therapy to replace damaged or lost RPE cells in patients with dry (atrophic) age-related macular degeneration (dry AMD). By transplanting healthy, functional RPE cells, the therapy aims to prevent the degeneration of photoreceptors and preserve visual function. TE02102 is currently being evaluated in investigator-initiated clinical trials (IIT) in China, with plans to advance toward an Investigational New Drug (IND) filing.
