Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tear Stimulation Forte is an over-the-counter homeopathic ophthalmic liquid developed and marketed by Natural Ophthalmics for dry-eye related symptoms. It is a multi-ingredient homeopathic eye-drop formulation containing aconitum napellus, alumina, arsenicum album, euphrasia stricta, nux mosch, natrum muriaticum, and zincum metallicum in homeopathic dilutions, and is promoted for acute or chronic dry eye, Sjogren syndrome, and excessive watering secondary to dry eye. It is not a conventional targeted pharmaceutical with a defined molecular mechanism of action, and homeopathic products of this type have not been evaluated by the FDA for safety or efficacy; Natural Ophthalmics has received FDA warning letters describing such products as unapproved new drugs.
