Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Tears Again** is a preservative-free liposomal eye spray marketed as a medical device for symptomatic treatment of dry eye disease, particularly evaporative dry eye associated with tear-film lipid-layer deficiency. The spray is applied to closed eyelids; phospholipid liposomes distribute onto the ocular surface during blinking and stabilize the tear film's protective lipid layer, reducing tear evaporation and improving ocular-surface moisturization. Clinical studies have reported improvement in dry-eye symptoms and non-invasive tear break-up time, with favorable handling and tolerability assessments. Tears Again is manufactured and marketed by Optima Pharma and has also been clinically sponsored in Israel by Trima Israel Pharmaceutical Products.
