Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tears Naturale II is a combination ophthalmic solution used as an artificial tear to relieve symptoms of dry eye, including burning, irritation, and discomfort. It contains dextran 70 (0.1%) and hypromellose (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose) (0.3%) as active ingredients. These polymers work together to mimic natural tears by forming a lubricating and moistening film over the cornea, providing symptomatic relief for both mucin-deficient and aqueous-deficient dry eye conditions. The product is preserved with Polyquad or benzalkonium chloride depending on the market, which helps maintain sterility but may require caution in contact lens users[5][7][8]. Tears Naturale II is indicated for use in adults and can be applied as needed throughout the day.
