Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Technetium-99m PSMA-11 (Tc-99m PSMA-11) is a diagnostic radiopharmaceutical and SPECT imaging agent designed to target prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), which is highly overexpressed in prostate cancer cells. It consists of the gamma-emitting radioisotope technetium-99m conjugated to the peptidomimetic urea-based PSMA inhibitor PSMA-11 (also known as gozetotide) via the chelator HBED-CC. Tc-99m PSMA-11 is used for the detection, staging, and restaging of prostate carcinoma, particularly in identifying primary lesions and bone or lymph node metastases. It serves as a cost-effective and widely accessible alternative to gallium-68 (Ga-68) PSMA PET/CT imaging, especially in resource-limited settings where PET infrastructure is unavailable.
