Technetium Tc 99m human serum albumin colloid is a radiopharmaceutical composed of denatured (colloid) particles of human serum albumin labeled with the radioactive isotope technetium-99m. It is used primarily as a diagnostic imaging agent in nuclear medicine, particularly for scintigraphy of bone marrow and lymphatic structures. The mechanism involves intravenous administration, after which the radiolabeled particles localize in the reticuloendothelial system (RES), especially within the liver, spleen, and bone marrow. The gamma emissions from Tc-99m allow for external imaging using gamma cameras to visualize organ function or structure[1][2][8].
