Overview

Technetium Tc-99m nofetumomab merpentan is a **diagnostic radioimmunoscintigraphic agent** formerly marketed as Verluma. It comprises the Fab fragment of the murine IgG2b monoclonal antibody NR-LU-10, termed nofetumomab, conjugated through the chelator merpentan to technetium-99m. The antibody fragment binds a carcinoma-associated approximately 40 kDa cell-surface glycoprotein expressed across many epithelial carcinomas; the Tc-99m label enables gamma-camera imaging of tumor sites. It was approved in the United States for detection of extensive-stage disease in patients with biopsy-confirmed, previously untreated small cell lung cancer, rather than for cancer treatment.
