technetium tc-99m sulesomab

Technetium tc-99m sulesomab (LeukoScan) is a radiopharmaceutical diagnostic agent composed of the Fab' fragment of a murine monoclonal antibody (sulesomab, clone IMMU-MN3) that targets the NCA-90 antigen on granulocytes. The antibody fragment is labeled with technetium-99m and administered intravenously for imaging infection and inflammation. After injection, it binds to granulocytes at sites of infection or inflammation; the radioactive signal can then be detected using gamma camera imaging to localize areas of increased granulocyte activity. LeukoScan was primarily indicated for detecting and localizing osteomyelitis in bone—including in patients with diabetic foot ulcers—but has also been investigated for other infectious/inflammatory conditions such as soft tissue infections and prosthetic joint infections. The product was developed by Immunomedics and is no longer authorized or marketed in Europe as of 2018[1][2][7].
