Overview

Tecnu Original is a topical outdoor skin cleanser marketed for use after exposure to poison ivy, poison oak, and poison sumac. It is a detergent-based mixture designed to physically solubilize and remove urushiol, the plant oil responsible for allergic contact dermatitis, from skin and contaminated items before further skin exposure or rash development. The formulation contains deodorized mineral spirits, water, propylene glycol, octylphenoxy-polyethoxyethanol, mixed fatty acid soap, and fragrance.
