Tecomella undulata is a medicinal plant belonging to the family Bignoniaceae, widely used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine. The heartwood, stem bark, leaves, and seeds are utilized for their therapeutic properties[4]. The plant contains a variety of phytochemicals including flavonoids (such as quercetin and kaempferol), sterols (stigmasterol and β-sitosterol), thiazoline derivatives, phytol, phthalic acid derivatives, and others[3][5]. Tecomella undulata exhibits diverse pharmacological activities such as antibacterial, antifungal, anticancer effects; it has been traditionally used for ailments like syphilis, leukoderma (vitiligo), blood disorders, swelling/inflammation, leucorrhoea (vaginal discharge), enlargement of spleen and other conditions[1][5]. Its mechanism of action is attributed to its rich content of bioactive compounds with antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties; however specific molecular targets have not been fully elucidated in modern pharmacology.
