Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tectonic Therapeutic is developing a bispecific biologic for the treatment of fibrotic diseases. This investigational therapy utilizes the company's proprietary GEODe platform to modulate two distinct G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). The mechanism involves inhibiting two different receptors with complementary and non-overlapping modes of action: one target with existing human proof of concept and one novel target. By targeting overlapping cell types involved in fibrosis, the bispecific approach aims to provide enhanced therapeutic potential compared to modulating either target alone. As of early 2024, the program is in the IND-enabling stage, with toxicology studies expected to begin in the second quarter of 2025.
