Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tegilalide (SHR0410) is a selective **kappa opioid receptor (KOR) agonist** developed by **Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals**. It is designed to provide potent analgesia while minimizing the side effects typically associated with mu-opioid receptor agonists, such as respiratory depression, gastrointestinal dysfunction, and potential for abuse. In June 2024, tegilalide received approval from the China National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) for the management of moderate to severe **postoperative pain** following abdominal surgery. The drug is administered intravenously and is currently being investigated in Phase 4 clinical trials for additional applications, including pain management during hysteroscopic procedures under non-intubation anesthesia. It is also in late-stage development for the treatment of **uremic pruritus** in patients undergoing hemodialysis.
