Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Teglitazide is a pharmaceutical agent currently under clinical investigation for the prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) and the management of postoperative pain. It is being evaluated in prospective, parallel-group interventional studies, particularly in high-risk female patients undergoing elective gynecological laparoscopic surgery. In these clinical settings, teglitazide is compared against standard opioid-based patient-controlled analgesia (PCA), such as sufentanil, to assess its efficacy in reducing PONV, improving recovery quality (as measured by the QoR-15 scale), and facilitating gastrointestinal recovery. The drug is developed by researchers at Henan University and Huaihe Hospital.
