Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**tegoprazan + edoxaban** is a combination of two pharmaceutical agents: - **Tegoprazan** is a potassium-competitive acid blocker (PCAB) that inhibits gastric acid secretion by blocking the potassium-binding site on the gastric H,K-ATPase (proton pump) in the stomach mucosa, leading to suppression of acid production. - **Edoxaban** is a direct oral anticoagulant (DOAC) that selectively inhibits Factor Xa, preventing the conversion of prothrombin to thrombin in the coagulation cascade, thereby reducing blood clot formation. This combination may be considered in clinical settings where both acid suppression (e.g., for peptic ulcer/gastroesophageal reflux disease) and anticoagulation (e.g., for prevention/treatment of thromboembolic disorders such as atrial fibrillation or deep vein thrombosis) are required. A pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic study of tegoprazan with NOACs (including edoxaban) is underway[4].
