Overview

Tegoprazan + tacrolimus is a combination drug consisting of tegoprazan, a novel potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB) that inhibits gastric acid secretion by competitively blocking the potassium-binding site of the gastric H+/K+-ATPase enzyme, and tacrolimus, an immunosuppressant that inhibits calcineurin to suppress T-cell activation. Tegoprazan provides rapid and sustained control of gastric pH independent of food intake. Tacrolimus is primarily used to prevent organ transplant rejection. This combination may be used in kidney transplant recipients to manage gastric acid-related issues while maintaining immunosuppression. However, coadministration can affect the metabolism and blood concentration of tacrolimus, requiring careful monitoring[1][2][3][5].
