TEGs (αβT cells engineered to express a defined γδTCR) are a novel class of engineered immune cells developed by Gadeta for cancer immunotherapy. These cells are designed to recognize and eliminate cancer cells, including multiple myeloma cells, through the expression of tumor-specific Vγ9Vδ2 T cell receptors. The mechanism involves an inside-out killing response that engages Butyrophilin subfamily 3 member A1 (CD277). TEGs are being advanced into clinical trials for acute myeloid leukemia and are also being investigated for multiple myeloma.
