**TEGVAX** is an experimental, preclinical whole-cell therapeutic cancer-vaccine platform developed at Johns Hopkins University. It consists of lethally irradiated, GM-CSF-secreting tumor cells based on GVAX formulated with Toll-like receptor agonist adjuvants; reported versions have included a TLR4 agonist such as lipopolysaccharide or glucopyranosyl lipid A and, in later studies, the TLR7/8 agonist resiquimod. The formulation is intended to activate antigen-presenting cells, enhance tumor-antigen presentation, and generate antitumor T-cell responses. In murine melanoma, squamous-cell carcinoma, and colon-cancer models, TEGVAX reduced tumor growth; combination with PD-1 blockade produced regression of established tumors in reported models. Its composition is not fixed across publications, and no marketed product or human clinical development program was identified.
