Overview

Telaglenastat + paclitaxel is a combination investigational regimen composed of telaglenastat, a potent and selective inhibitor of glutaminase (GLS), and paclitaxel, a cytotoxic chemotherapeutic agent that stabilizes microtubules and inhibits cell division. Telaglenastat targets tumor cell metabolism by inhibiting GLS, which is responsible for the conversion of glutamine to glutamate, a critical metabolic step for cancer cell growth and survival. Paclitaxel interferes with the normal breakdown of microtubules during cell division, leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. This combination has been studied in phase 2 clinical trials for triple-negative breast cancer, especially focusing on efficacy in specific subpopulations including participants of African and non-African ancestry[9][10].
