Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Telcagepant + acetaminophen** is a fixed-dose, oral combination of two agents: **telcagepant**, a selective calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) receptor antagonist, and **acetaminophen**, a widely used analgesic and antipyretic. Telcagepant blocks the action of CGRP, a neuropeptide involved in migraine pathophysiology, thereby inhibiting migraine-associated vasodilation and pain signaling. Acetaminophen decreases pain and fever primarily through central inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. This combination has been evaluated for the acute treatment of migraine attacks in adults, aiming to augment analgesic efficacy by combining drugs with distinct mechanisms of action[1][2][3][4].
