Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Telmican Q is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) therapy developed by Jeil Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. for the simultaneous management of hypertension and hyperlipidemia (dyslipidemia). It integrates three active pharmaceutical ingredients: rosuvastatin, telmisartan, and amlodipine. Rosuvastatin is an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin) that lowers LDL cholesterol and triglycerides while increasing HDL cholesterol. Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that promotes vasodilation and reduces blood pressure by selectively antagonizing the AT1 receptor. Amlodipine is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker (CCB) that inhibits the influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle, leading to peripheral vasodilation and further blood pressure reduction. This triple combination is designed to simplify complex treatment regimens, thereby improving medication adherence and cardiovascular outcomes in patients with multiple risk factors.
