Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Telovia-CTC is a fixed-dose triple combination therapy developed by Arovia Healthcare for the management of hypertension. It consists of telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB); cilnidipine, a dual L/N-type calcium channel blocker (CCB); and chlorthalidone, a thiazide-like diuretic. Telmisartan works by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor in many tissues, such as vascular smooth muscle and the adrenal gland, resulting in vasodilation and decreased aldosterone secretion. Cilnidipine provides a unique dual blockade of L-type calcium channels (reducing vascular resistance) and N-type calcium channels (suppressing sympathetic activity and reflex tachycardia). Chlorthalidone acts as a long-acting diuretic by inhibiting sodium and chloride reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubule, thereby reducing extracellular fluid volume and blood pressure. This combination is typically utilized when blood pressure is not adequately controlled by dual therapy.
