Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Vintel-40H is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product containing telmisartan and hydrochlorothiazide. Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that selectively binds to the AT1 receptor, preventing angiotensin II from causing vasoconstriction and aldosterone release. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that inhibits sodium and chloride reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidney, leading to increased excretion of water and electrolytes. Marketed by Dios Lifesciences, Vintel-40H is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, particularly in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by telmisartan monotherapy.
