Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Telzox is a generic formulation of telmisartan, a small molecule angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) developed and marketed by Lloyd Healthcare. It is primarily indicated for the management of hypertension (high blood pressure) and to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events such as myocardial infarction and stroke. Additionally, it is used in the management of diabetic nephropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes. Telzox works by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor in many tissues, such as vascular smooth muscle and the adrenal gland, leading to vasodilation and reduced aldosterone secretion.
