Temodex

Temodex is an experimental localized chemotherapy formulation consisting of the alkylating agent temozolomide incorporated into a biodegradable polymer, often described as a hydrogel or powder for gelation. Developed by Grandeur Bio (Shijiazhuang Yuanjia Biotechnology) and originally originating from the Research Institute for Physical and Chemical Problems of the Belarusian State University, it is designed for the treatment of brain cancers, specifically glioblastoma multiforme. The product is intended for application directly into the resection cavity following surgical tumor removal. This approach aims to provide a high local concentration of temozolomide to eliminate residual tumor cells through sustained release, thereby enhancing therapeutic efficacy while minimizing the systemic toxicity typically associated with oral temozolomide administration.
