temozolomide + APG-157 is a combination therapeutic under investigation for the treatment of recurrent glioblastoma. **Temozolomide** is an oral alkylating agent that damages DNA in cancer cells, leading to cell death. **APG-157** is a first-in-class botanical drug made up of plant-derived compounds (including curcumin) that acts by inducing selective apoptosis in cancer cells and reprogramming the immune environment, including reducing inflammation and attracting T-cells to the tumor microenvironment. APG-157 is administered as an oral lozenge and shows low toxicity. The combination has been explored in expanded access and clinical trial settings for its potential to improve survival and quality of life in patients with advanced brain cancers, specifically glioblastoma. The combination therapy has not shown significant adverse effects, but evidence is limited and further studies are needed.[5][3]
