Overview

Tenatumomab is a monoclonal antibody designed for cancer therapy. It targets the antigen known as tenascin-C, an extracellular matrix glycoprotein that is highly expressed in various solid tumors but is rarely found in most normal adult tissues. By binding to tenascin-C, tenatumomab is intended to deliver cytotoxic activity selectively to tumor cells while sparing healthy tissue. Clinical development has focused primarily on its use as a radioimmunotherapy agent (when labelled with radioactive isotopes), aiming to treat diseases such as non-Hodgkin lymphoma and other solid tumors. Tenatumomab has been developed as a murine (mouse-derived) monoclonal antibody.
