Overview

This combination therapy consists of three agents commonly used in the management of acute myocardial infarction, especially ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI): - **Tenecteplase** is a genetically modified tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) that acts as a fibrinolytic agent, promoting the conversion of plasminogen to plasmin and thereby dissolving blood clots. - **Abciximab** is a monoclonal antibody fragment that acts as a glycoprotein IIb/IIIa receptor antagonist on platelets, blocking platelet aggregation and thrombus formation. - **Heparin** is an anticoagulant that potentiates the activity of antithrombin III, thereby inhibiting thrombin and factor Xa (and, to a lesser extent, other coagulation factors), preventing the propagation of clot formation. This triple regimen has been studied in various clinical trials for efficacy and safety in reperfusion therapy but is not a fixed-dose combination product; each component is administered separately as part of a composite anticoagulant and antiplatelet strategy in acute coronary syndromes[1][3][5][7].
