Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tenglong Buzhong Tang (TLBZT) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula primarily utilized as an adjuvant therapy for colorectal cancer (CRC). It is a complex polyherbal mixture that typically includes *Solanum nigrum*, *Duchesnea indica*, *Scutellaria barbata*, and *Hedyotis diffusa*, alongside components of the classic *Buzhong Yiqi Tang* formula. TLBZT is designed to strengthen the body's 'Zheng Qi' (vital energy) while eliminating 'pathogenic factors' associated with tumor progression. Its mechanism of action involves the inhibition of tumor cell proliferation and survival by antagonizing key oncogenic signaling pathways, most notably the Wnt/beta-catenin and PI3K/Akt pathways. Additionally, TLBZT has been shown to induce apoptosis, suppress epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), and modulate the gut microbiota and immune microenvironment to prevent cancer recurrence and metastasis. It is frequently administered in combination with standard chemotherapy regimens to enhance therapeutic efficacy and mitigate treatment-related toxicities.
