Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tengshen Granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by the Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (also known as Shandong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine). It is primarily indicated for the treatment of grade 1 hypertension, particularly in patients diagnosed with the TCM syndrome of Liver-Yang Hyperactivity. As a multi-component botanical product, it is typically used as a hospital-made preparation (院内制剂). The formulation aims to regulate blood pressure and alleviate associated symptoms like dizziness and headache through the synergistic action of its constituent herbs, which often include botanical agents like *Uncaria rhynchophylla* (Gouteng). It is currently being evaluated in randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials to establish its efficacy and safety profile in hypertensive populations.
