Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination medication containing three antiretroviral drugs (tenofovir disoproxil fumarate, lamivudine, and efavirenz) commonly used for HIV treatment, plus telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker used to treat hypertension. Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate is a prodrug that converts to tenofovir, which inhibits HIV reverse transcriptase. Lamivudine is a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor. Efavirenz is a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor. Telmisartan blocks angiotensin II receptors, causing blood vessels to relax and lower blood pressure.
