Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TENPA (Targeting-Enhancing Nanoparticles of Paclitaxel) is a novel nanoparticle formulation of the chemotherapeutic agent paclitaxel. It is designed for tumor-specific delivery, encapsulating paclitaxel within a human serum albumin-haemin complex. This formulation aims to enhance paclitaxel accumulation in cancer tissue, thereby reducing systemic toxicity and improving therapeutic efficacy compared to existing paclitaxel formulations like Abraxane. TENPA was investigated for its safety and maximum tolerated dose in patients with advanced solid tumors.
