Tenuvia

Tenuvia is a branded generic oral formulation of teneligliptin, developed and marketed by Precia Pharma Private Limited. It is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Teneligliptin works by inhibiting the DPP-4 enzyme, which is responsible for the degradation of incretin hormones such as glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP). By blocking this enzyme, Tenuvia increases the levels of these hormones, thereby stimulating insulin secretion from the pancreas and decreasing glucagon release from alpha cells in a glucose-dependent manner, effectively lowering blood glucose levels.
