Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TERAVID-19 is a DNA vaccine candidate developed by the Brazilian biotechnology company ImunoTera for the prevention of COVID-19. The vaccine utilizes a DNA plasmid platform designed to deliver genetic sequences encoding SARS-CoV-2 antigens into host cells. Once inside the cells, these sequences are expressed as viral proteins, which then trigger a robust immune response involving both neutralizing antibodies and T-cell activation. As of early 2024, TERAVID-19 is in the preclinical stage of development, with the goal of providing a stable and effective immunization option against the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
