Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Terbimax-F is a topical combination drug developed by Galcare Pharmaceutical Pvt Ltd, containing the antifungal agent terbinafine (1% w/w) and the corticosteroid fluticasone propionate (0.05% w/w). Terbinafine works by inhibiting squalene monooxygenase (squalene epoxidase), an enzyme essential for fungal ergosterol synthesis, which disrupts fungal cell wall formation and stops growth. Fluticasone propionate is a potent corticosteroid that acts as a glucocorticoid receptor agonist, providing anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects to relieve redness, swelling, and itching associated with skin infections. It is indicated for the treatment of various fungal dermatological conditions, including tinea pedis (athlete's foot), tinea cruris (jock itch), tinea corporis (ringworm), tinea capitis, and pityriasis versicolor.
