Overview

Terevalefim is a small molecule drug that acts as a hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) mimetic and functions as an agonist of the proto-oncogene protein c-Met receptor. By stimulating c-Met, terevalefim promotes tissue repair and regeneration, particularly in settings of ischemic or fibrotic injury. It has been investigated for its potential to improve renal function and prevent delayed graft function following kidney transplantation, as well as for acute kidney injury, acute lung injury, renal failure, brain injuries, hepatic fibrosis, myocardial infarction, stroke, and other conditions involving organ damage or fibrosis. The drug was originally developed by Angion Biomedica and is currently being developed by Elicio Therapeutics[1][2][5].
