Overview

Tergase is a highly purified recombinant human hyaluronidase developed by Alteogen using its proprietary Hybrozyme technology. It is designed as a non-animal-derived alternative to traditional animal-sourced hyaluronidases and exhibits over 99% purity, minimizing the risk of allergic reactions and eliminating the risk of animal disease transmission. Tergase acts by hydrolyzing hyaluronic acid in connective tissue, thereby increasing tissue permeability and facilitating the dispersion and absorption of co-administered drugs or fluids. Its primary indications include dermal filler removal, use as an adjuvant for local anesthetics in ophthalmic surgery, orthopedic pain management, edema treatment, and potentially other medical applications where enhanced drug absorption or reduced swelling is desired. Clinical trials have demonstrated no incidence of anti-drug antibodies (ADA), supporting its superior safety profile compared to animal-derived products[1][3][5][6][7].
