TERGS0001 is an autologous skeletal muscle-derived (myoblast) cell sheet developed for regenerative medicine applications. It is specifically being evaluated for its ability to reinforce the duodenal wall following endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for superficial nonampullary duodenal epithelial tumors (SNADET). The therapy involves harvesting a patient's own myoblasts and culturing them into a cohesive sheet using temperature-responsive technology, which allows the cells to be harvested with their intact extracellular matrix. The cell sheet is transplanted onto the serosal side of the duodenum during laparoscopic and endoscopic cooperative surgery (LECS) to provide mechanical reinforcement and promote tissue repair, with the primary aim of preventing delayed perforation and subsequent peritonitis.
