TERN-801 is an orally administered, small-molecule antagonist of the glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide receptor (GIPR) being developed by Terns Pharmaceuticals as a next-generation metabolic therapy for obesity and related metabolic diseases. As a GIPR antagonist, it is designed to block signaling of the incretin hormone GIP, a strategy that has shown potential to enhance weight loss and metabolic control, particularly when combined with glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs).
